Quality & Tagging

All Files are .mp3. Good music needs good quality, that means no 128Kbps & lower bitrates, re-encodes and bad rips. All albums posted here are properly ripped & tagged. Artwork is added when available which means almost always.

Everything is posted in .rar files. Download Winrar here.

MP3@VBR = at variable bitrates from 192 to 320Kbps.
MP3@CBR = at constant bitrate raging from 192 to 320Kbps .

I support the CBR 320 Kbps format because in my opinion it just gives the best quality all over. The format doesn't cut low nor high tones and keeps the quality of the mp3 as close as possible to the original. Downside is CBR 320 quality files do take up more disc space and takes longer to up- and download.

How do I rip and tag?

To rip my CD's I use Easy CD-DA Extractor. Easy CD-DA Extractor, the Swiss Army Knife Of Digital Audio, is CD Ripper, Audio Converter, Metadata Editor and CD/DVD burning software. I found it to be the best from all the tools I tested. More info can be found here.

I use a program called Tag & Rename to finetune tags and add albumart. It's simple in use, has great possiblilties and simply does what it needs to do without a any hasstle. You can find the program here.

Folders

The album folder will always be in the same format: Artist/Band - Album [Year]
The mentioned year is always the year the album was originally released. The folder also includes an albumart .jpg of 500x500 pixels called folder.jpg AND a .jpg with the same dimensions bearing the same name as the album. A folder always contains a playlist file with .m3u extension.

examples:
Blue Cheer - Vincebus Eruptum [1967]
Queens Of The Stone Age - Queens Of The Stone Age [1998]

Additional info is added when it comes to reissues or enhanced/remastered editions.

examples:
Blue Cheer - Blue Cheer (Remastered) [1969]
Queens Of The Stone Age - Lullabies To Paralyze (Enhanced) [2005]
The Who - The Ultimate Collection (+Bonus CD) [2002]

Files

All files are tagged the same way and albumart is always embedded in the song .

This is how each song looks like:
Artist/Band - Album - Songnumber on the album - Song

example:
Bob Dylan - Blood On The Tracks - 09 - Shelter From The Storm.mp3

Extra info is also included in the tag when needed.

example:
Lenny Kravitz new 2-Disc Deluxe Edition "Black And White America" release
will hold files like this:

Lenny Kravitz - Black And White America (DE) (CD 1) - 02 - Come On Get It.mp3
Lenny Kravitz - Black And White America (DE) (CD 2) - 04 - War.mp3

DE = Deluxe edition

Other specifications can be:

LE = Limited Edition
JE = Japanese Edition
CE = Collectors Edition
